Clients ask for microneedling by name, and it is the service with the most ways to go wrong.

This certification teaches the protocol and the judgment together: where the pen works and stops, which clients to say yes to, and the settings for every zone of the face. In one four-hour class in Fullerton, a DBH educator coaches you through the full treatment on your own model.

Pass the assessment after class and you're certified to offer smoother-looking, firmer-looking skin that builds over a series, with the full professional kit in hand.

WHY TRAIN WITH DBH

Six reasons to get certified here.

Microneedling belongs on most menus, and it is the service with the most ways to go wrong. This certification teaches the protocol and the judgment together: one pen, one standardized protocol, taught on a real face with a DBH educator coaching your hands and checking your settings.

A DBH SIGNATURE TREATMENT · TAUGHT IN PERSON IN FULLERTON, CA

  • 01

    Stimulation, not destruction

Microneedling creates thousands of fine channels in the epidermis and at the dermal junction without removing the surface. The class teaches exactly where that line sits, and why deeper is not better.

  • 02

    Precise by design

Vertical, even channels at a controlled depth, a fresh single-use cartridge for every client, and a DBH pen with adjustable depth and speed. You train on the pen you take home.

  • 03

    Settings you can defend

Depth by zone, speed, pin count and pass count, with the visual endpoint that tells you when to stop. The chart is in your class materials; the judgment is what you practice at the table.

  • 04

Client selection is taught, not assumed

Who to take, who to send home and when to wait: the contraindication list, Fitzpatrick guidance, seasonal timing and the medications that rule a client out. This is the part that protects your license.

  • 05

It pays back within your first series

Most DBH pros charge $100–150 per treatment and book it as a series of four to six. Tuition is $1,200 with the full professional kit included, so the class is covered within your first few clients.

  • 06

You're not on your own after class

Our education team and your DBH rep are there for questions after class, you get protocol updates as the technique evolves, and every product the service uses is available to you at wholesale.

BEFORE YOU ENROLL

Questions before you enroll

Who can enroll?

Licensed estheticians, cosmetologists and dermatologists, medical aesthetics professionals (RNs, NPs and PAs), and students currently enrolled in a licensing program. We verify your license or enrollment by email after purchase, before class.

Can I perform microneedling in my state?

It depends on your state board. Some states allow licensed estheticians to microneedle and some, including California, don't; nurses and other medical professionals follow their own rules. Check with your board before you enroll. Class covers how to find the answer, but we can't give legal advice.

Do I need to bring a model?

Yes. The hands-on portion is the full treatment performed on a model you bring, with your educator coaching. Bring a headband or hair tie for them. If you can't find a model, tell us when we confirm your booking and we can help you source one.

What happens after I pay?

You'll get an order confirmation right away, then an email from our education team confirming your class date, the address (1111 S Placentia Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831), parking, what to bring, and your license or enrollment verification. Nothing else is needed before class day.

How do I receive my certification?

Complete the class, then take the short open-book assessment our office emails you. A perfect score is required; if you miss a question, our education team goes over it with you so you can pass. Complete it promptly and your Microneedling Certification is issued.

Can I offer microneedling to clients right away?

You leave with the full protocol, your kit and pricing guidance, so you can begin practicing immediately where your license allows it. Promote it as a certified DBH microneedling treatment once your certification is issued.

Who is microneedling for, and who isn't it for?

It's for clients who want smoother-looking texture, a firmer look, and the look of softer fine lines and old acne scarring, built over a series. It isn't for active breakouts or infection, open wounds, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea in the area, a history of keloid scarring, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent isotretinoin, or skin cancer or suspicious lesions in the area. Class covers the full list, Fitzpatrick guidance and seasonal timing.

What's the downtime?

Expect redness, tightness and sometimes mild swelling for a few hours, usually settled within a day or two. There's no peeling. Class teaches the mask finish that calms the skin before the client leaves, and the home care that follows.

What's the aftercare?

Sun protection every day and a gentle routine: no exfoliants or anything that sensitizes the skin for the first few days, no picking, and the serum, moisturizer and sunscreen you send clients home with. The written instructions are in your class materials.

How often, and when do clients see results?

Most pros book a series of four to six treatments, three to six weeks apart, then monthly maintenance. Clients notice a smoother, firmer look that builds across the series. Results are cosmetic; microneedling is not a medical treatment and doesn't treat any condition.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. Affirm and Shop Pay Installments are both available at checkout; choose either at payment to see your monthly options. You can also hold a seat with a $100 deposit and pay the balance before class begins; the deposit applies to your tuition.

What are the rescheduling, cancellation and refund policies?

Any rescheduling or cancellation request must be made at least 72 business hours before the scheduled class. Requests inside that window carry a $150 charge, whether you reschedule or cancel. We don't offer refunds, returns or exchanges on classes once purchased, whether partially completed or completed, so please review the class description and requirements before purchasing and contact us with any questions. If you have a special situation, reach out to us.
