Certification: Introduction to Chemical Peeling

★★★★★ 4.9 (21 Reviews)
$50.00

Choosing the right peel starts with knowing what makes one gentle and another deep. Without that, every peel is a guess.

This one-hour live online class covers how peels work, DBH's light, medium and deep levels, which clients are right for a peel, and how to prep and layer the skin.

You finish with a digital certificate of completion and a clear way to match each client to the peel that suits their skin and concern.

What you'll master

The foundations of professional peeling, taught live by a DBH educator:

- How peels work: the skin's layers, why renewal slows with age, and what sets a peel's strength (the acid, its strength, procedure time and supporting ingredients)

- DBH's light, medium and deep levels: the peel families in each (enzyme, herbal, AHA, BHA, Jessner-style and TCA) and the downtime and frequency each level carries

- Client selection and safety: the intake questions, Fitzpatrick type, and the contraindications that rule a peel out

- Prep and layering: why clinical cleansing comes first, and how to layer from mildest to strongest while watching for redness, heat and discomfort

- Choosing by concern: matching the peel to the client's concern and skin, and how often each level can be repeated

- A brief overview of DBH and its home-care line

WHY TRAIN WITH DBH

Six reasons to start peeling with DBH.

A peel is only as good as the choice behind it. This class gives you that reasoning first: what sets a peel's strength, which client suits which level, and how to prep and layer, taught live by a DBH educator.

A DBH INTRODUCTORY CLASS · TAUGHT LIVE ON ZOOM

  • 01

    Built on DBH's own levels

You learn peeling through DBH's light, medium and deep levels and the peel families in each, from enzymes and herbals to AHAs, BHAs and TCA, so you see how the whole range fits together.

  • 02

Choose by concern, not by menu

Every peel needs a reason. You learn to start from the client's concern and skin, then pick the formula built for it, instead of offering the same peel to everyone.

  • 03

    Safety comes first

Client intake and contraindications come before any specific peel is introduced. You learn the questions to ask, the factors to weigh and the conditions that rule a peel out.

  • 04

Prep is part of the peel

Clinical cleansing gets its own step, because an uneven or unclean surface can mean an uneven peel. You learn why the surface matters as much as the acid.

  • 05

    One live hour, from anywhere

A focused introduction on Zoom with a DBH educator. There's no travel, no model and no kit to buy, so it's an easy first step into peel services.

  • 06

    A clear next step

When you're ready to go further, Skin Analysis and DBH's Advanced and PRO Clinical certifications build on what this class starts.

“This is the first time taking a class online, so the experience was unique to me. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I am very pleased with this format. The instructor was very knowledgeable, worked at a good pace, and most importantly, was very good at communicating with all the attendees and ensuring questions were answered. BEFORE YOU ENROLL

Questions before you enroll

Who can enroll?

Licensed estheticians, cosmetologists and dermatologists, medical aesthetics professionals (RNs, NPs and PAs), and students currently enrolled in a licensing program. We verify your license or enrollment by email after purchase, then send your class confirmation and private Zoom link. What you can offer clients varies by state, so check with your state board.

What does the certificate of completion mean?

It shows you completed the class: a digital certificate, issued when you finish. It isn't a license or a credential, and it doesn't change what your license allows you to do. There's no exam.

How does the online class work?

It's a live class on Zoom, taught by a DBH educator, not a recording. Your private link arrives by email before class. The educator shares the slides on screen and takes your questions as they teach.

Do I need a model, a kit or any equipment?

No. This is an introductory class with no hands-on portion, so there's no model, no kit and nothing to buy before class. A computer or tablet with a steady connection is all you need.

What does the class cover?

How peels work and what sets their strength. DBH's light, medium and deep levels and the peel families in each: enzyme, herbal, AHA, BHA, Jessner-style and TCA. Client intake and contraindications, why clinical cleansing comes first, layering from mildest to strongest, and how often each level can be repeated. It also includes a brief overview of DBH and its home-care line.

What doesn't it cover?

Hands-on work. There's no model, no demonstration and no step-by-step peel protocol. Peel technique is covered in DBH's advanced clinical classes.

Can I buy professional peels after class?

Professional peels are sold by license, and some deeper peels are available only to qualifying license holders. Our team confirms which peels your license or enrollment allows you to order.

What's the difference between a light peel and a deep one?

Esthetician peels work in the epidermis, the skin's outer layer; peels that reach the dermis are physician procedures, and your state board sets the strength limits for your license. DBH's levels run from light peels with no downtime to deeper peels with more flaking and a longer recovery, and some are sold only to qualifying license holders.

Does the class use DBH products?

Yes. The levels and peel families are taught with DBH's professional peels, and the class includes a brief overview of DBH and its home-care line. What you learn about how peels work applies to any professional peel.

What should I take next?

Skin Analysis, which teaches the consultation behind every treatment plan, and DBH's Advanced Clinical (Level I) and PRO Clinical (Level II) certifications. Dermaplaning certification is another option.

What happens after I pay?

You'll get an order confirmation right away, then an email from our education team to verify your license or enrollment and confirm your class date. Your private Zoom link follows before class.

What are the payment and class policies?

Tuition is $50, paid in full at checkout. Rescheduling or cancellation must be requested at least 72 business hours before class, at no charge. Inside that window the class can't be changed or cancelled. We don't offer refunds, returns or exchanges on classes once purchased, whether partially completed or completed. If you have a special situation, reach out to us.
