What you'll master

DBH's Level I peels, performed on your own model, and the consultation and planning behind them:

- DBH's three peel levels (exfoliating, resurfacing and deep peeling): how deep each works, the downtime each carries, and why this class certifies you at Level I

- The consultation: intake and health history, consent and informed consent, client expectations, and the contraindications that rule a peel out

- Plans of Treatment: a six-treatment series built around a client's concern, pairing in-clinic treatments with home care, and where Level I peels fit in it

Format & Schedule

One four-hour session, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM PT, taught two ways. Choose a date above: in person at our Fullerton, CA headquarters, or live online over Zoom with your kit shipped to you before class.

Either way, the theory comes first, then you perform Level I peels on a model you bring, with a DBH educator coaching you. Online, you set a second camera (a phone is fine) on your model's face so your educator can see your work.

WHY ADVANCED CLINICAL

Six reasons to add Level I peels the DBH way.

Level I peels are the lightest in DBH's system. This class pairs them with the consultation and the Plans of Treatment that turn a single peel into a series, taught on a real face with a DBH educator coaching your hands.

LEVEL I OF DBH'S CLINICAL PEEL SYSTEM · TAUGHT LIVE ONLINE AND IN FULLERTON, CA

  • 01

    Three levels, one system

DBH sorts its professional peels into three levels: exfoliating, resurfacing and deep peeling, each with its own depth, downtime and spacing. You learn how the whole system fits together and work hands-on at Level I, the lightest, with little to no flaking.

  • 02

Every series starts with a plan

A Plan of Treatment is a six-treatment series built around one concern, pairing in-clinic treatments with home care. You learn how DBH builds its plans for concerns like the look of dark spots, fine lines, enlarged-looking pores and oily skin, where Level I peels fit in them, and how to adapt a plan to the client in front of you.

  • 03

    Consultation comes first

Intake and health history, consent and informed consent, client expectations, and the contraindications that rule a peel out. You learn to screen before you peel, so every treatment starts from a documented conversation.

  • 04

Prep is part of the peel

Clinical cleansing is one of DBH's signature techniques. The kit's cleansing oil, pre-peel cleanser, prep exfoliator and mist leave the skin clean and even, so the peel goes onto a prepared surface.

  • 05

It pays for itself in four to eight treatments

DBH suggests charging $100–200 per Level I treatment. Tuition is $750 with the full professional kit included, so the class is covered within your first handful of bookings.

  • 06

You're not on your own after class

Our in-house estheticians are there for questions after class, you get ongoing education and treatment updates, and every product in your kit can be reordered from DBH.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE KIT

The cleansers, peels and masque you train with, included with your seat.

BEFORE YOU ENROLL

Questions before you enroll

Who can enroll?

Licensed estheticians, cosmetologists and dermatologists, medical aesthetics professionals (RNs, NPs and PAs), and students currently enrolled in a licensing program. We verify your license or enrollment by email after purchase, before class. What you can offer clients varies by state, so check with your state board.

Can I take this online? What do I need?

Yes. Choose an online date and the class runs live over Zoom in the same educator-led, hands-on format as Fullerton. Your kit ships to you before class. On the day you need your model, a second camera (a phone is fine) pointed at your model's face so your educator can see your work, and the class materials we email ahead with your Zoom link.

Do I need to bring a model?

Yes, for both formats. The hands-on portion is Level I peels performed on a model you bring, with your educator coaching. Choose someone with none of the contraindications listed below, and bring a headband or hair tie for them. If you're training in Fullerton and can't find a model, tell us when we confirm your booking and we can help you source one.

What happens after I pay?

You'll get an order confirmation right away, then an email from our education team confirming your class date and your license or enrollment verification. For Fullerton classes it includes the address (1111 S Placentia Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831), parking and what to bring; for online classes, your Zoom link, class materials and kit shipping details.

How do I receive my certification?

Complete the class, then take the open-book online assessment. Within 30 days, submit before-and-after photos of Level I peels you perform on two clients after class. Once your assessment and photos are reviewed, your Advanced Clinical Certification (Level I) is issued.

What does Level I mean, and what comes next?

DBH sorts its peels into three levels: Level I (exfoliating), Level II (resurfacing) and Level III (deep peeling). This class certifies you at Level I. Level II and III peels are taught in DBH's PRO Clinical and MASTER Clinical certifications. Which peels you can offer also depends on your license and your state board.

Which peels does the class cover?

Hands-on, the kit's Level I peels: Green Apple Fruit Peel, Glycolic Acid 10% Solution and Lactic 20 Solution, with the clinical cleansing that preps the skin and the Cellular Hydration Masque after the peel. In theory, Level I treatments like Pumpkin Peel, Active Enzyme Base and Vitamin C Oxygen, and where deeper levels fit in a Plan of Treatment.

Who isn't a peel for?

Clients who've recently had cosmetic surgery, laser resurfacing, a chemical peel or dermabrasion; who are pregnant; who have herpes simplex, a tendency toward hyperpigmentation, inflamed rosacea or acne, an infectious disease, open sores or suspicious lesions, or sunburned or irritated skin; or who use Accutane, Retin-A or other medications that exfoliate or thin the skin. The list isn't exhaustive, and class covers how to screen with the intake form.

What results can clients expect?

Level I peels work on the skin's outermost layers with little to no flaking, for a brighter, smoother-looking finish. A Plan of Treatment builds on that over a series of visits, paired with home care. Results are cosmetic; Level I peels aren't a medical treatment and don't treat any condition.

Can I offer Level I peels to clients right away?

You leave with the Level I protocols, your kit and pricing guidance, so you can begin practicing immediately. Promote your service as DBH Advanced Clinical certified once your certification is issued.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. Affirm and Shop Pay Installments are both available at checkout; choose either at payment to see your monthly options. You can also hold a seat with a $100 deposit and pay the balance before class begins; the deposit applies to your tuition. Class packages and group rates are also available; contact our education team for details.

What are the rescheduling, cancellation and refund policies?

Any rescheduling or cancellation request must be made at least 72 business hours before the scheduled class. Requests inside that window carry a $150 charge, whether you reschedule or cancel. We don't offer refunds, returns or exchanges on classes once purchased, whether partially completed or completed, so please review the class description and requirements before purchasing and contact us with any questions.
